21 SEMAS SA students represented South Africa at the 14th PAMA International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition on the 29th December 2013 in Hong Kong, China. These Students enrolled through PAMA South Africa, a non-profit company. This was our best results to date! Well done to all students and teachers for all your hard work!

The 12th PAMA Soroban and Mental Arithmetic competition was held in Thailand in December 2011 and was a massive success! 
Throughout the competition, our South African team
proudly wore their green and gold shirts which
were presented to them by the
South African
Rugby Union (SARU).

SEMAS SA was honoured with a PAMA membership on the 29 August 2010 at the 11th PAMA Competition in Malaysia.

24 students represented South Africa at the 13th PAMA International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition on the 29th December 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Only 1 abacus institution per country is chosen on merit and SEMAS SA was selected.
Marlene Mouton went to Malaysia and accepted membership.

SEMAS SA t/a A⁺Students offers Soroban (Abacus) Maths Extra Mural Course For Kids.
These Soroban (Abacus) maths extra-mural classes for children (from 30 months) consist of 3
age-appropriate courses. These lessons are offered by sensei's (teachers). Although it sounds
like mathematics (maths) lessons, like kumon and mastermaths, it is the total opposite.
A⁺Students is powerful brain development! It is similar to piano/chess for pre-school children.

Soroban (Abacus) and the skill of Mental Arithmetic called Anzan. In the classroom A⁺Students
do Brain Gym integrating the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Brain gym is excellent for

Self-Confidence, Improves Intelligence
and creates a love for Maths.
